FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Karen Brummund will create a new outdoor installation in the Fall Creek neighborhood of Ithaca, New York. This installation continues Brummund’s series on Greek Revival architecture, which began at Waterburg Plaza in September 2010. The success of that event encouraged Brummund to produce another project in Tompkins County.
126 SEARS STREET transforms this historic home into a sculpture. The facade is lit up by a digital installation. The projection includes Brummund’s videos about the architecture and drawings of the house by community members and artists. Together they encourage us to think about the buildings that frame our community. Can contemplation in public space lead to a community with more profound and sustainable actions?
