CAP II Grant Award 2010

Recently, I was awarded the CAP II grant to make new work in Tompkins County. One of the exciting aspects of this project is that it is close by so I can share my work with the friends I see each week. For this project, I will be looking for historical buildings in Ithaca and working with the History Center to present it. Let me know if you know of historical site in Tompkins County that I should consider. I’ll be starting my research soon and more news about the events will come out in 2010.

Have you started working on this yet? I think you would be interested in the building across the street from the History Center- the old McCormick/ Cowdy house, that was Unity house and is presently in the design phase of becoming Argos Inn. It is a little old and decrepit looking right now but has an interesting history- it was owned by Roy Park at one point and also was the Dunkan Hines headquarters. Let me know if you want to know more about the building.
